Hello everyone,

Auschwitz Birkenau German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp (1940-1945) (Poland) will be discussed during the UNESCO World Heritage Committee Meeting this year. This site was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1979.

This site is famous for wonderful educational programmes as well as visitor management. Personally I was much impressed with their efforts to preserve the original substance as much as possible, while presenting various aspects of historical memories on the site. 

Concerning the construction of new roads around the site, further details are required in HIA, and hope the government of Poland would continuously follow the recommendations of experts made in 2013. It is good that we can see the progress, thanks to the genuine ‘will’ and actual ‘effort’ of the State Party in this case.
